Details

Designed by acclaimed architect Gary Panks, Whirlwind Golf Club's Cattail Course offers a distinctive championship layout that winds through the natural beauty of the Gila River Indian Community. Unlike many desert courses, Cattail blends lush fairways with native grasses, wetlands, and carefully preserved desert landscapes, creating a scenic and strategic test that rewards thoughtful shot-making. Wide landing areas provide confidence off the tee, while well-placed bunkers, water features, and undulating greens keep every hole engaging from start to finish. Combined with exceptional course conditions, panoramic views of the Sierra Estrella Mountains, and the peaceful setting free from surrounding homes, Cattail delivers an unforgettable Arizona golf experience that golfers of all skill levels will appreciate.

GolfTroop Arizona Review

Whirlwind Golf Club has established itself as a premier golf destination for Arizonans as well as travelers from around the globe. Located on the Gila River Indian Reservation, this golf course is the definition of a casino golf resort layout. Well manicured with a lot of room to save a couple mistakes. Do not let the fairways fool you. If you do not have a decent approach shot into the green, you can almost expect an extreme uphill or downhill putt based on pin location. Devil's Claw holds true to its name with a design that will heat up any round if you let it get a hold of you!
